Pakistan women’s national cricket team delivered a sensational performance to defeat Zimbabwe women’s national cricket team by a massive 153 runs in the opening T20I match at Karachi’s National Bank Stadium. The victory became Pakistan’s biggest win margin in women’s T20 internationals and showcased the team’s growing strength in the format.
The star of the match was Ayesha Zafar, who smashed a brilliant unbeaten 102 runs off just 47 balls. Her explosive innings included 15 fours and two sixes, helping Pakistan post a record breaking total of 237/5 in 20 overs. This became Pakistan’s highest ever total in women’s T20I cricket, surpassing their previous best score against South Africa in 2024.
Pakistan got off to a quick start with opener Gull Feroza scoring a rapid 37 from 19 balls. Later, Ayesha built important partnerships with several teammates before sharing a powerful unbeaten stand with captain Fatima Sana. Fatima added a useful 21 runs from just 13 deliveries to keep the scoreboard moving at the end of the innings.
In reply, Zimbabwe struggled badly against Pakistan’s disciplined bowling attack and were bowled out for only 84 runs in 18.2 overs. Zimbabwe batter Natasha Mtomba was the top scorer for her side with 24 runs, but no batter could build a meaningful innings.
Captain Fatima Sana also impressed with the ball by taking three wickets for just seven runs in her spell. Sadia Iqbal and Natalia Pervaiz chipped in with two wickets each to complete a dominant all round display.
The commanding win has given Pakistan a strong start in the T20I series and boosted confidence ahead of the upcoming matches.
