The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has issued a powerful call for diplomatic success as Pakistan hosts critical negotiations. In a recent interview with a British media outlet, Bilawal emphasized that there is absolutely no Plan B for this situation; the world must ensure that “Plan A,” which is the restoration of global peace, succeeds. He warned that the devastating consequences of continued warfare would not be contained within the borders of the Middle East but would instead shatter the global economy and lead to an unthinkable loss of human lives.

The current peace process began after a month of intensive diplomatic efforts led by Islamabad. A two-week ceasefire was recently announced by US President Donald Trump, halting a six-week period of intense military conflict and airstrikes. This confrontation, which tragically claimed over 2,000 lives, was triggered by the assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader and subsequent strikes on nuclear infrastructure. In response, Tehran’s operations disrupted shipping routes in the Strait of Hormuz, creating a massive energy crisis and threatening international maritime security.

According to Bilawal, the negotiations are currently revolving around a 10-point formula presented by Iran. While significant political differences remain regarding regional control and sanctions relief, the halting of active bombing offers a vital window for confidence-building measures. Pakistan’s role as a neutral mediator has been widely praised by the international community, highlighting Islamabad’s commitment to regional de-escalation.

When questioned about a potential Nobel Peace Prize nomination for his role in these efforts, Bilawal remained focused, stating that his primary goal is the establishment of peace rather than personal accolades. As the two-week ceasefire continues, the focus remains on bridging the gap between Washington’s 15-point framework and Tehran’s demands to ensure a lasting resolution to the conflict.
