Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called on all parties involved in the US Iran ceasefire to strictly follow the agreement and avoid any actions that could derail the fragile peace process. Speaking during a federal cabinet meeting, the premier emphasized that ceasefire violations weaken trust and reduce the chances of achieving long-term stability in the region.

The prime minister urged all sides to show maximum restraint and honor the agreed two week truce. He stressed that this pause in conflict should allow diplomacy to take the lead, creating space for meaningful dialogue and a peaceful resolution. According to him, the ceasefire is only the beginning, and the ultimate goal remains lasting peace.

Recent developments have raised concerns, as reports of violations were highlighted during discussions between Iranian officials and Pakistan’s leadership. Despite these challenges, Pakistan continues to play a key mediating role, working closely with both regional and global stakeholders to maintain stability.

PM Shehbaz noted that Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts have significantly enhanced its global reputation, with world leaders acknowledging its role in easing tensions. He described the ceasefire as a major diplomatic achievement, made possible through coordinated efforts between political and military leadership.

The prime minister also extended appreciation to Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, the Foreign Office, and Field Marshal Asim Munir for their continuous engagement with international counterparts. He credited their efforts for helping secure the ceasefire agreement and opening the door for further negotiations.

In a move to strengthen dialogue, PM Shehbaz has invited leaders from both sides to Islamabad for continued peace talks, aiming to reach a comprehensive and lasting agreement. He also thanked countries such as Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, UAE, Qatar, and China for supporting Pakistan’s diplomatic initiative.

Concluding his remarks, the prime minister expressed hope that ongoing efforts will lead to permanent peace, stating that Pakistan remains committed to promoting stability, cooperation, and global harmony.
