Islamabad United delivered a dominant performance to defeat Lahore Qalandars in a Pakistan Super League 11 clash at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi. The match turned into a one sided contest as United comfortably chased down a modest target of 101 runs with ease.
The star of the match was Devon Conway, who played a brilliant unbeaten innings of 59 runs off 35 balls, smashing seven fours and three sixes. His calm and confident batting ensured Islamabad United stayed in control throughout the chase. Mohammad Faiq also contributed significantly with a quick 34 runs, building a solid partnership with Conway that took the game away from Lahore.
Islamabad faced an early setback when opener Sameer Minhas was dismissed cheaply by Shaheen Afridi, but Conway and Faiq quickly stabilized the innings. Their partnership helped United cross the 50 run mark within six overs, maintaining a steady run rate and putting pressure on the opposition.
Earlier, Lahore Qalandars struggled with the bat and were bowled out for just 100 runs. The collapse began early when Imad Wasim dismissed Mohammad Naeem for a duck. Despite a brief recovery, wickets kept falling at regular intervals, preventing any strong momentum.
Chris Green led the bowling attack with an impressive spell, taking three wickets for 19 runs. Captain Shadab Khan, along with Imad Wasim and Richard Gleeson, picked up two wickets each, ensuring Lahore never settled.
Despite efforts from Sikandar Raza, Lahore failed to post a competitive total. Islamabad United’s balanced performance with both bat and ball secured them a convincing victory, strengthening their position in the tournament
