The United Arab Emirates has made its stance clear regarding the ongoing regional tensions involving Iran, stating that it will not allow its airspace or territory to be used for any attacks against the country. The announcement was made during an official media briefing held in Abu Dhabi, where senior leaders addressed security, economic, and humanitarian measures.
Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, emphasized that the UAE’s approach remains balanced and responsible. She confirmed that while the country seeks stability and peace, it also reserves the right to protect its sovereignty, as well as the safety of its citizens, residents, and visitors. She highlighted concerns over Iran’s ballistic missile programme, describing it as a serious threat to the wider Gulf region. According to her, the security of Gulf nations is interconnected, and any escalation could destabilize the entire region.
The minister also confirmed that the UAE has closed its embassy in Tehran and withdrawn its ambassador following recent Iranian attacks. Officials reiterated that there is no military solution to the crisis and warned against further escalation.
Major General Abdul Nasser Al Humaidi, spokesperson for the Ministry of Defence, assured the public that the armed forces remain at a high level of combat readiness. He clarified that recent sounds heard across parts of the country were due to missile interceptions, and confirmed that the UAE possesses strong strategic defense reserves capable of addressing aerial threats.
On the economic side, Economy and Tourism Minister Abdulla bin Touq reassured residents that the country holds sufficient strategic reserves of food and essential goods for four to six months. He urged the public to avoid panic buying and confirmed that markets are being monitored to prevent unfair price increases.
Authorities also announced that 80 flights per day are operating to assist travelers. Meanwhile, the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority confirmed that daily life across the UAE continues as normal, with all essential services fully operational.
