The United Arab Emirates has firmly stated that it will not allow attacks on Iran to be launched from its airspace, territory, or territorial waters, reaffirming its position amid rising regional tensions. The announcement was made by the UAE foreign ministry, which emphasized that peaceful solutions remain the best path forward during the ongoing crisis.
In an official statement issued on Monday, the foreign ministry stressed the UAE’s commitment to state sovereignty, international law, and regional stability. It made clear that the country would also refuse any logistical support for hostile military actions directed at Iran. According to the ministry, dialogue, de-escalation, and diplomatic engagement are the only viable ways to manage current tensions in the Middle East.
The statement came shortly after US President Donald Trump announced that an American naval armada was heading toward the Gulf region, saying Washington was closely monitoring Iran following the easing of internal protests. The UAE hosts a significant US military presence, including thousands of American personnel stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base near Abu Dhabi, making its stance particularly significant.
Iran has issued strong warnings in response to the growing US military buildup. Iranian officials have said that any form of attack, whether limited or large-scale, would be considered an act of all-out war. Tehran has pledged to respond forcefully if its territory is targeted. These warnings followed the movement of US warships, including the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, destroyers, and fighter jets into the region.
A senior Iranian official stated that while Iran hopes the buildup is not intended for confrontation, the country’s military remains on high alert and prepared for the worst-case scenario. The official added that Iran would respond decisively to any aggression.
The UAE’s position highlights its effort to balance strategic partnerships with a commitment to regional peace. By refusing to allow its soil to be used for military action, the UAE is signaling its intent to avoid escalation while urging all parties to pursue diplomatic solutions.
