In a landmark move, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has unveiled a new Golden Visa category dedicated to individuals who have made exceptional contributions to humanitarian and charitable causes. This initiative reflects the nation’s enduring commitment to fostering social responsibility and community development.

The new category recognizes donors who establish endowments (Waqf) for charitable purposes. It has been introduced through a partnership between the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai (GDRFA-Dubai) and the Endowments and Minors Affairs Foundation (Awqaf Dubai).

Under the program, Awqaf Dubai will identify and nominate eligible donors who meet the criteria outlined in Cabinet Resolution No. (65) of 2022. Once verified and approved, these individuals will receive the prestigious UAE Golden Visa, offering long-term residency in recognition of their generosity.

Officials emphasized that this initiative aligns with the UAE’s vision of becoming a global leader in humanitarian work and supporting those who strive to uplift communities. A joint committee will oversee the program’s implementation, ensuring smooth operations and evaluating its social impact over time.

With this introduction, the UAE continues to strengthen its reputation as a nation that honors compassion, sustainability, and philanthropy, offering a meaningful path for donors to be celebrated for their lasting contributions to society.
