People across Pakistan will soon witness a rare celestial event as the first Supermoon of 2025 is set to appear on October 7. Astronomers confirm that the moon will look larger and brighter than usual, offering stargazers a spectacular night view.

A Supermoon occurs when the moon comes closest to Earth in its orbit, making it appear noticeably bigger and more luminous than on a regular full moon night. This October, the moon will be approximately 224,599 miles away from Earth, the closest since November of last year.

The event will not only be visible in Pakistan but also across the globe. Following October’s Supermoon, two more will brighten the skies on November 5 and December 5, with another one expected in January 2026. Astronomers note that the November 2025 Supermoon will be the brightest, as the moon moves even closer to Earth at 221,817 miles.

Typically, three to four Supermoons occur each year, and each brings excitement to sky watchers. For many, the charm lies not only in the moon’s size but in the breathtaking experience of watching it dominate the sky.

Residents in Pakistan are encouraged to step outside on October 7 and enjoy this natural wonder, which promises to be one of the year’s most magical astronomical events.
