Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan has been included in the prestigious ICC T20 World Cup 2026 Team of the Tournament after delivering one of the most remarkable batting performances in the competition’s history. The International Cricket Council announced the team following the conclusion of the tournament, recognising the standout performers who made a major impact throughout the event.
Farhan emerged as one of the biggest stars of the tournament despite Pakistan’s campaign ending in the Super Eight stage. The talented opener scored an impressive 383 runs in seven matches, setting a new record for the most runs scored by any player in a single edition of the T20 World Cup.
The 29 year old also achieved another historic milestone by becoming the first cricketer to score two centuries in a single T20 World Cup tournament. One of his most memorable innings came against Sri Lanka, where his outstanding century played a decisive role in securing a narrow five run victory for Pakistan in a crucial Super Eight match.
The Team of the Tournament was selected by a panel of experienced cricket experts including former West Indies fast bowler Ian Bishop, former England captain Eoin Morgan, commentator Natalie Germanos, ICC representative Gaurav Saxena, and senior sports journalist Rex Clementine.
India’s Sanju Samson was named Player of the Tournament after playing a vital role in his team’s title winning campaign. The aggressive wicketkeeper batter delivered several match winning performances, including key innings in the semi final and final, helping India secure the championship.
Other prominent players selected in the team include Ishan Kishan, Aiden Markram, Hardik Pandya, Will Jacks, Jason Holder, Adil Rashid, Jasprit Bumrah, Lungi Ngidi, and Blessing Muzarabani. USA fast bowler Saurabh Netravalkar was named as the 12th player after an impressive group stage performance.
Farhan’s selection highlights his exceptional consistency and batting brilliance throughout the competition. His record breaking performance has not only strengthened his reputation as one of Pakistan’s leading T20 batters but also secured his place among the top performers of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
