The Punjab government has launched its first-ever driving training school for heavy transport vehicles in Lahore, aiming to improve road safety and reduce accidents involving buses, trucks, and cargo carriers.
The initiative ensures that heavy vehicle drivers are not only licensed but also trained in modern safety practices. In the past, many accidents were linked to poor driving skills or lack of formal training, and this program directly addresses that gap.
The training center features advanced driving simulators, allowing drivers to practice in a controlled environment before heading onto real roads. These simulators replicate challenging road conditions, adverse weather, and emergency situations, helping drivers learn how to respond effectively in real life.
In addition to simulations, participants will undergo practical driving sessions supervised by qualified instructors. The curriculum emphasizes road discipline, defensive driving techniques, and vehicle maintenance. Each course is certified, giving professional recognition to trained drivers.
Officials believe the program will significantly raise the standards of heavy vehicle driving in Punjab. By producing skilled and responsible drivers, the government aims to make both highways and urban roads safer for all commuters.
The establishment of this school is regarded as a landmark step toward reducing accidents and fostering a stronger culture of road safety in the province.
