The Punjab government has launched a major crackdown on Afghan nationals living without legal documentation, introducing a reward of Rs. 10,000 for citizens who report undocumented individuals. This initiative aims to encourage the public to assist authorities in identifying people staying in the province without valid papers or using fake identification documents.

Officials explained that the campaign targets several categories of violations. These include Afghan residents without legal permits, individuals carrying fake or tampered CNICs, and those operating businesses without authorized approval. Authorities have also warned that anyone supporting or facilitating such activities will face legal consequences.

Police have assured complete confidentiality for those who come forward with information. This promise is intended to build trust and encourage more people to participate in the reporting system without fear of exposure or retaliation.

Additionally, strict action is being taken against landlords, shopkeepers, and property owners who rent or lease spaces to Afghan nationals without verifying their documents. The government stresses that cooperation from the public is essential for the success of this operation.

Officials report that arrests have increased sharply in recent weeks. Many Afghan nationals have been detained, while others have already been deported for lacking the legal right to remain in Pakistan.

The government hopes that by offering a reward system, the ongoing campaign will become more efficient, leading to quicker detection and stronger enforcement across Punjab.
