Five jailed PTI leaders have urged the party to postpone all forms of protest activities during the holy month of Ramadan and instead shift focus toward parliamentary politics and internal organisational reform. The appeal was made through a joint letter issued from Kot Lakhpat Jail, reflecting a strategic change in the party’s political direction during a sensitive religious period.

The incarcerated leaders emphasized the sanctity of Ramadan, stating that protest movements should be deferred out of respect for the holy month. They called on the party to prioritise parliamentary engagement, legal efforts, and structured political action rather than street agitation. The leaders also highlighted the urgent need for a complete organisational revival across the country, stressing that a disciplined and united structure is essential for long-term political stability.

A major concern raised in the letter was the health condition of Imran Khan, which has become a growing political issue. The leaders demanded that the government stop politicising his health and ensure his medical treatment is carried out in consultation with his sisters and personal doctors. They urged the party to intensify legal proceedings in courts to secure proper medical care and ensure regular access for family members, lawyers, and party officials.

The imprisoned leaders strongly condemned recent political statements made against Imran Khan, describing them as inappropriate and unethical for high public offices. They stated that Khan continues to face imprisonment with dignity and resilience, despite extremely difficult circumstances.

Beyond leadership concerns, the letter called for parliamentary activism through structured debate, legal instruments, and institutional engagement. It proposed that key party committees should make decisions through consensus or majority voting, with all resolutions formally documented and binding. Communication discipline was also stressed, stating that only designated party officials should present the party’s narrative to the media.

Finally, the leaders urged PTI to consistently highlight Pakistan’s worsening security situation, rising terrorism, economic instability, inflation, poverty, unemployment, and social challenges such as education decline, population growth, and corruption, positioning the party as a voice for national accountability and reform.
