Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has maintained a highly active foreign policy schedule, making 34 foreign visits in just 20 months, averaging nearly one trip every 30 days. This diplomatic pace reflects Pakistan’s strong emphasis on international partnerships, trade promotion, and economic diplomacy.

According to official data, Saudi Arabia was the Prime Minister’s most frequent destination, with eight official visits, highlighting the deep political and economic ties between the two nations. He also visited China, the United States, and Egypt twice each, participating in high-level meetings, investment forums, and bilateral dialogues aimed at strengthening cooperation.

Other destinations included Iran, the UAE, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Qatar, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Turkey, the UK, and Malaysia, where discussions focused on energy, infrastructure, and technology collaboration.

Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari also maintained an active diplomatic role, completing three foreign visits, including to Turkmenistan and China, to enhance energy and connectivity projects.

Collectively, these engagements highlight Pakistan’s renewed global outreach. The government’s consistent diplomatic activity under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif showcases Islamabad’s strategy to boost investment, deepen alliances, and position Pakistan as a proactive player in global and regional affairs.
