The Sindh Government has introduced a petrol subsidy program aimed at providing relief to motorcyclists affected by rising fuel prices. Under this initiative, eligible bikers can receive Rs2,000 fuel support as part of a broader relief package designed to ease financial pressure caused by the global energy crisis.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah announced that citizens can now apply through the Excise Department’s online portal, making the process more accessible and efficient. The subsidy will cover approximately 20 litres of petrol for the month of April and will be directly transferred to the applicant’s bank account after successful verification.

Step-by-step registration process

To apply for the Sindh petrol subsidy, follow these simple steps:

  1. Visit the official Excise portal at taxportal.excise.gos.pk
  2. Register yourself through the online system or mobile application
  3. Ensure your motorcycle is registered in your own name
  4. Make sure your bank account is also in your name
  5. Complete the required verification process
  6. Once approved, the subsidy amount will be automatically transferred

The government has also simplified the process by removing fees for motorcycle ownership transfer, encouraging citizens to update their registration details quickly.

Officials have extended working hours at Excise offices to support applicants, including weekend services. Citizens can also track their application status online or contact the helpline for assistance.

According to authorities, there are over 6.7 million registered motorcycles in Sindh, but only one subsidy will be granted per individual, even if multiple bikes are registered.

This initiative is part of a larger emergency relief plan that also includes financial support for farmers and transporters. The government has emphasized that this subsidy is targeted toward those in need, ensuring direct financial assistance rather than indirect benefits.

With fuel prices continuing to rise globally, the Sindh petrol subsidy offers timely relief to everyday commuters.
