The mortal remains of a Pakistani national who tragically lost his life in a missile strike in Abu Dhabi have been repatriated to Islamabad, officials confirmed on Friday. The deceased, Safir Ullah Eid Marjan, hailed from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and had been working as a driver in the United Arab Emirates to support his family.

Marjan’s body was flown to Islamabad, from where it will be transported to his hometown of Bannu for burial. The Pakistan Embassy in Abu Dhabi stated that all necessary arrangements had been completed to ensure a smooth and respectful repatriation. Transportation from Islamabad airport to his family residence was also organized, reflecting the government’s commitment to supporting overseas nationals in times of crisis.

Officials highlighted that the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation is actively assisting in the process of delivering the bodies of deceased nationals to their families. A government representative accompanies the remains to formally hand them over to relatives, ensuring dignity and compassion during such difficult moments.

The Pakistani mission expressed heartfelt condolences to Marjan’s family and extended gratitude to the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Abu Dhabi Police for their cooperation. Their support played a crucial role in ensuring the timely repatriation of the deceased.

This incident underscores the risks faced by migrant workers in conflict-affected regions. Despite the dangers, thousands of Pakistanis continue to work abroad, contributing significantly to the country’s economy through remittances. The tragedy serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by overseas workers and the importance of strong diplomatic ties to safeguard their welfare.

Marjan’s untimely death has left his family and community in mourning, but the swift action taken by both Pakistani and UAE authorities ensured that his final journey home was carried out with respect and care.
