The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has officially extended the airspace ban on Indian aircraft until November 23, 2025, maintaining restrictions that have been in effect since April 23, 2025.
The latest Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) confirms that the ban applies to both civilian and military aircraft traveling to and from India. Initially imposed following rising tensions between the two nations, the restriction has now been renewed multiple times as regional diplomacy remains at a standstill.
Aviation experts report that the continued ban is forcing Indian airlines to reroute their international flights, leading to longer flight durations and higher operational costs. This has affected several major carriers operating between India, Europe, and the Middle East.
According to the CAA, the decision to extend the ban was made “in the interest of national security and regional stability.” Officials have emphasized that the situation is being monitored closely and that any future review will depend on the evolution of diplomatic relations between the two neighbors.
Despite calls from international observers for renewed dialogue, the ongoing airspace restriction underlines the fragile state of Pakistan-India relations. With no immediate breakthrough in sight, regional connectivity and aviation efficiency continue to face disruptions while both countries navigate a period of heightened political sensitivity.
