The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially issued a termination notice to Multan Sultans, accusing the franchise of violating contractual obligations and making public statements that allegedly went against the league’s policies.

According to PCB officials, team owner Ali Tareen’s comments about the board’s management and policies were considered damaging to the image of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Despite previous warnings, the franchise reportedly continued to make public remarks, prompting the board to take disciplinary action.

In a statement, the PCB confirmed that Multan Sultans’ participation in the upcoming PSL season has been suspended pending review, with legal proceedings underway to determine the final outcome. The board also reminded all franchises that public criticism of PCB violates clauses in the standard franchise agreement.

In response, Multan Sultans called the decision “outrageous and unfair,” asserting that Ali Tareen’s remarks were meant as constructive criticism aimed at improving the league’s structure and fan experience.

The controversy has divided the cricket community. Some fans back the PCB’s decision to uphold professionalism and order, while others advocate for open dialogue and transparency within the league.

With discussions expected between PCB officials and franchise representatives, the future of Multan Sultans in PSL remains uncertain as the situation unfolds.
