Multan – A critical water gauge reading at Muhammad Wala, RD 11+300 Akbar Flood Bund, has raised alarm among local authorities and residents as flood levels continue to rise.
According to official data recorded on September 9, 2025, at 08:00 AM, the water level at the site stood at 413.49 feet, with the trend showing a continuous rise. This measurement is being closely monitored as the river system and flood bunds in southern Punjab remain under intense pressure due to ongoing inflows.
The rising water levels at Muhammad Wala are considered a critical indicator of the flood situation in the region. If the trend persists, it could pose serious risks to protective embankments and nearby settlements. Local administration, irrigation officials, and disaster management teams have been alerted to remain on high alert.
Emergency response units are already on standby to carry out timely evacuations in case of any breach or overflow. Authorities are also urging residents in low-lying and vulnerable areas to exercise caution and be prepared for possible relocation.
Experts warn that the continued rise in water levels could affect agricultural lands, livestock, and road networks in surrounding areas, worsening the economic and humanitarian impact of the floods. Relief organizations have begun coordinating with the government to provide food, clean water, and medical aid where needed.
The situation at Muhammad Wala Gauge Head is being monitored round-the-clock, with authorities expected to issue fresh updates to ensure public awareness and preparedness.
