Multan/Jalalpur — Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif reached Multan on Wednesday to personally evaluate the situation in flood-affected zones, including Jalalpur Pirwala, amid escalating monsoon-triggered inundations.
The provincial government confirmed her arrival via an official post on X, which featured aerial visuals revealing the extent of flooding in the region.
This visit comes amid one of the most severe flooding events in recent memory: Punjab’s eastern districts, including Multan, have been hit hard by overflowing rivers and excessive dam water releases.
Mass evacuations are underway, and entire communities are grappling with destruction and displacement.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s field presence aims to monitor ongoing rescue and relief operations, ensure government aid reaches those hardest hit, and offer reassurance to survivors.
