President Asif Ali Zardari has reportedly expressed strong dissatisfaction over the worsening condition of Karachi, directing serious concerns toward the provincial leadership. According to details shared by senior anchor Muhammad Malick on ARY News program Khabar Muhammad Malick Kay Saath, the president reprimanded Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab during internal party meetings.

Sources revealed that both President Zardari and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari have been in Karachi for several days, reviewing the city’s administrative and development situation. During these discussions, the president questioned the leadership about the obstacles they face, particularly regarding funding, authority, and delayed projects. He reportedly asked why visible improvement has not been achieved despite available resources.

The president is said to be deeply concerned about rising public criticism, especially comparisons between Karachi and Lahore, which have intensified across media and social platforms. Emphasizing accountability, he has given the Sindh government a strict three month deadline to deliver noticeable progress. He stressed that public complaints must decline and clear development results should be visible within this period.

Sources further stated that President Zardari expressed frustration over delays in major infrastructure projects. He advised provincial authorities to consult Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi for guidance on completing projects efficiently. Referring to rapid construction in other cities, he reportedly remarked that underpasses elsewhere are completed within sixty days, while similar projects in Karachi face years of delay. He also expressed a desire to see Karachi’s roads match the standards of Islamabad.

Separately, the Pakistan Peoples Party leadership reportedly showed displeasure over the recent Karachi Conference hosted by Governor Kamran Tessori. While the party may support selected matters related to the proposed 28th Constitutional Amendment, it has ruled out any discussion regarding the formation of a new province. Sources added that changes in the governor’s position are also being considered.
