A disturbing incident involving the Islamabad Police has triggered public outrage after a video surfaced online showing alleged violence by members of the Dolphin Squad against a married couple. The footage, reportedly recorded by a nearby resident, shows officers confronting a husband and wife outside their home in the F 8 sector of the capital city.
In the viral clip, several officers can allegedly be seen physically assaulting the couple during what appears to be a routine identification check. The person recording the video is heard urging others to document the situation, claiming that the officers were beating citizens without justification and even using force against a woman. The visuals quickly spread across social media, raising serious concerns about police misconduct and abuse of authority.
According to official sources, the confrontation reportedly began when Dolphin Squad personnel stopped the couple and requested to see their identity cards. The situation allegedly escalated into a heated exchange, which then turned physical. However, the exact sequence of events remains under investigation.
In response to the viral video, Islamabad Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi took immediate notice of the matter. Authorities confirmed that all officers allegedly involved in the incident have been suspended pending further inquiry. The IGP clearly stated that inappropriate behavior and physical mistreatment of citizens would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
On the instructions of the IGP, a formal departmental inquiry has been launched. SSP Operations Qazi Ali Raza has initiated a detailed investigation to determine the facts and fix responsibility. Police officials have assured the public that further disciplinary action will be taken based on the findings of the inquiry.
The incident has once again highlighted the importance of accountability, transparency, and professional conduct within law enforcement agencies.
