Islamabad International Airport has been recognized as the best major airport in Pakistan for 2024, according to a recent audit conducted by the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA).
The evaluation covered airports across the country, measuring their performance in key areas such as passenger services, cleanliness, safety standards, and baggage handling efficiency.
Islamabad Airport claimed the top spot, outperforming Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport and Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport in every major category. The audit commended its modern infrastructure, smooth operations, and dedication to passenger comfort and safety.
Among regional airports, Multan International Airport earned the highest ranking, surpassing Peshawar, Quetta, and Faisalabad airports. Multan’s recognition came from its enhanced services, clean environment, and efficient passenger management, making it a popular choice for travelers in southern Punjab.
The report also praised the efforts of airport management teams, emphasizing their role in maintaining high operational standards. Both Islamabad and Multan airport managers received special letters of appreciation from the PAA for their outstanding leadership and commitment to service excellence.
This acknowledgment reflects the continuous progress in Pakistan’s aviation sector, showcasing a strong commitment to improving infrastructure and passenger experience.
With the rise in both international and domestic travel, the PAA expects these rankings to promote healthy competition among airports, driving further improvements in facilities and customer satisfaction.
