Iran has presented a detailed 10 point peace plan aimed at ending its ongoing conflict with the United States, signaling a possible breakthrough after weeks of escalating tensions. The proposal comes shortly after a two week ceasefire agreement, reached just hours before a critical deadline, with Pakistan playing a key mediation role.

According to Iran’s National Security Council, formal talks between the two sides are scheduled to begin in Islamabad on April 11, based on this comprehensive framework. The plan outlines a mix of military, economic, and strategic conditions that Iran considers essential for a lasting peace agreement.

A central element of the proposal focuses on the Strait of Hormuz, where Iran seeks controlled passage coordinated with its armed forces. This would give Tehran significant influence over one of the world’s most vital oil routes. Iran also demands the complete withdrawal of US forces from the region and an end to hostilities against its allied groups.

On the economic front, the plan calls for the lifting of all sanctions, the release of frozen Iranian assets, and full compensation for damages caused during the conflict. Additionally, Iran insists on the removal of international restrictions imposed by global bodies.

Another key demand is the recognition of Iran’s uranium enrichment programme, which has been a major point of dispute for years. Tehran wants this right formally accepted as part of the final agreement.

The proposal also includes provisions for ensuring safe maritime transit through the Strait of Hormuz and calls for all agreed measures to be formalized through a binding UN Security Council resolution.

The United States has described the plan as a workable basis for negotiations, raising hopes for a more stable outcome. With both sides showing cautious willingness to engage, upcoming talks in Islamabad could play a decisive role in shaping the future of regional peace and global energy stability.
