Several US warplanes crashed in Kuwait City on Monday morning as Iran Gulf attacks entered their third consecutive day, escalating tensions across the region. According to Kuwait’s Defence Ministry, all crew members survived the incident and were safely evacuated.
A defence ministry spokesperson confirmed that multiple American aircraft went down earlier in the day. Emergency teams quickly launched search and rescue operations, transporting the crew to a nearby hospital for medical evaluation. Officials stated that their condition is stable, while investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the crash.
The developments unfolded amid continued Iranian missile and drone strikes targeting Gulf nations. An AFP correspondent reported seeing black smoke rising near the US Embassy in Kuwait, though there was no official confirmation that the embassy had been directly hit. The diplomatic mission issued an urgent security alert, warning citizens not to approach the premises due to an ongoing threat of missile and UAV attacks. Embassy staff are currently sheltering in place as a precaution.
Kuwait’s Interior Ministry also revealed that it intercepted several drones targeting the oil rich state at dawn. So far, authorities across the Gulf report at least five fatalities, including one death in Kuwait, linked to the recent wave of attacks.
Residents in major Gulf cities such as Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Doha, and Manama reported hearing loud explosions as air defence systems responded to incoming threats. Iran’s unprecedented bombardment has not only targeted military bases but also struck civilian infrastructure, including residential buildings, airports, hotels, and seaports.
The escalating conflict has shaken a region long regarded as a haven of stability within the Middle East. With tensions rising rapidly, Gulf nations remain on high alert as they brace for further developments.
