India Netherlands Match delivered another strong performance as India secured a 17 run victory over the Netherlands in their final group stage fixture of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. With this win, the defending champions completed the group stage unbeaten and will now face South Africa in their first Super Eight match on February 22.

Batting first after winning the toss, India posted a competitive total of 193 for 6 in 20 overs. The innings did not begin smoothly as Abhishek Sharma was dismissed for a duck early. However, the middle order quickly stabilized the innings. Tilak Varma played a steady knock of 31 runs, building important partnerships with Ishan Kishan and captain Suryakumar Yadav.

The momentum shifted completely when Shivam Dube arrived at the crease. The all rounder smashed a powerful 66 off 31 balls, hitting six towering sixes and four boundaries. He was well supported by Suryakumar Yadav with 34 and Hardik Pandya who added a quick 30, helping India reach a challenging total.

Chasing 194, the Netherlands fought hard but fell short, finishing at 176 for 7. Bas de Leede top scored with 33, while Zach Lion Cachet, Noah Croes, and Michael Levitt made useful contributions. Despite several players getting starts, the Dutch side could not build a match winning partnership.

India’s bowlers delivered a disciplined performance. Varun Chakravarthy led the attack brilliantly with figures of 3 for 14, while Shivam Dube, Jasprit Bumrah, and Hardik Pandya chipped in with crucial wickets.

This victory marked India’s fourth consecutive win in the tournament, giving the team strong momentum as they move into the Super Eight stage.
