Former cricketer Imran Farhat has been officially appointed as Pakistan’s batting coach for the upcoming two-match Test series against South Africa, beginning October 12 at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium. The move marks an exciting phase in Pakistan’s preparations for the ICC World Test Championship 2025–27 campaign.
Renowned for his technical proficiency and experience at the international level, Farhat will focus on enhancing Pakistan’s red-ball batting performance. His inclusion reflects the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) commitment to strengthening the team’s coaching structure ahead of a high-stakes home series.
The coaching panel also features Azhar Mehmood as head coach, Abdul Rehman as spin coach, and Abdul Majeed overseeing fielding. Together, they aim to create a well-balanced and competitive unit capable of performing at the highest level.
This series holds symbolic importance, as it marks South Africa’s first Test tour of Pakistan since 2021, highlighting renewed international confidence in hosting cricket in the country.
