The Benazir Income Support Programme has taken a major step toward data driven governance by launching a real-time digital dashboard for its flagship Benazir Nashonuma Programme, which focuses on stunting prevention and child nutrition across Pakistan. The initiative aims to improve monitoring, transparency, and policy effectiveness in the country’s health and social protection sectors.

The dashboard was formally inaugurated by Rubina Khalid, Chairperson of Benazir Income Support Programme, alongside Syed Imran Ahmed Shah, Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety. The event was also attended by Coco Ushiyama, Country Director of the World Food Programme.

According to officials, the digital dashboard provides real-time insights that will help federal and provincial authorities strengthen oversight, improve accountability, and enable timely policy responses. The system allows decision makers to track programme performance and address gaps more effectively, ensuring that nutrition support reaches the most vulnerable populations.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Senator Rubina Khalid emphasized that the initiative will support healthy growth for children and help combat nutritional deficiencies among adolescent girls. She also acknowledged the technical assistance provided by the World Food Programme, UNICEF, and the World Health Organization, calling it a strong example of international collaboration for social development.

The Benazir Nashonuma Programme has already benefited over four million women and children, delivering essential nutrition during the first one thousand days of life, a critical period for physical and mental development.

Earlier, the Benazir Income Support Programme also announced increased stipends across its key initiatives for Ramadan, providing financial relief to nearly 10 million beneficiary families nationwide. Senator Rubina Khalid confirmed that the Benazir Kafalat quarterly stipend has been raised from Rs. 13,500 to Rs. 14,500, with the enhanced amount to be disbursed during Ramadan.
