The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially announced the national squad for the upcoming home white-ball series, confirming the return of former captain Babar Azam to the T20I lineup. His comeback is expected to add experience, strength, and stability to the batting order as Pakistan prepares for a critical phase in international cricket.

According to the announcement, Salman Ali Agha will continue as T20I captain, while Shaheen Afridi has been appointed ODI captain for the first time, signaling a fresh leadership approach for both formats.

Among the new faces, Usman Tariq has received his maiden call-up to the T20I team. Additionally, Abdul Samad and Naseem Shah have rejoined the squad, enhancing Pakistan’s batting depth and bowling attack.

For the ODI lineup, the PCB has recalled Faisal Akram, Haris Rauf, and Haseebullah, aiming to build a more versatile and competitive team.

The home series begins on October 28 with five T20I matches against South Africa, followed by ODIs against South Africa and Sri Lanka. Later in November, Pakistan will also compete in a tri-nation series.

Fans are eagerly anticipating Babar’s return as team management seeks to blend experienced players with emerging talent to shape a winning white-ball strategy for the future.
