Pakistan’s security forces neutralized five militants during targeted counterterrorism operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan, according to security sources. In North Waziristan’s Mir Ali area, an intelligence-based raid resulted in the deaths of three insurgents. Forces recovered a significant cache of arms and ammunition while dismantling active militant hideouts in the area.
Simultaneously, security personnel conducted security operations in the Surab district of Balochistan, killing one militant while an accomplice fled the scene. In a separate incident in KP’s Tank district, another insurgent died when an explosive device he was carrying detonated prematurely en route to a local government office. The unexpected blast caused structural damage to two neighboring residential houses.
These ongoing security actions come amid a sharp rise in terrorist activities, with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan bearing the brunt of the violence. Recent security data indicates that the two provinces account for nearly 96 percent of all violence-related casualties nationwide, prompting security forces to intensify intelligence-led crackdowns to restore regional stability.
