A Lahore Cantt Court has granted a five day physical remand of the main suspect, Ahmad Raza Dar, along with three co accused, in a high profile case involving the alleged assault of two foreign nationals. The court’s decision allows investigators additional time to question the accused and gather further evidence related to the case.

The order was issued by Judicial Magistrate Azhar Mahmood after the accused were presented before the court by Investigation Officer Abdul Rehman Butt. During the hearing, the prosecution argued that further custody was necessary to recover the alleged weapons used in the incident and trace the ransom money reportedly obtained during the crime.

According to official court and police documents, the four arrested individuals have been identified as Ahmad Raza Dar, Sikandar Aziz Khan, Hassan Raza, and Sajid Ali. Ahmad Raza Dar was named in the original First Information Report (FIR), while the remaining three suspects were added to the investigation through a supplementary statement submitted by the complainant on July 2.

The case includes serious allegations under Section 365 A of the Pakistan Penal Code, relating to kidnapping for ransom, as well as Section 375 A, which concerns rape charges. The court also noted that these offences fall under the provisions of the Anti Rape (Investigation and Trial) Act, 2021, making the investigation subject to the procedures outlined in the special legislation.

Although the police requested a 14 day physical remand, the court approved five days, directing investigators to complete the necessary inquiry within the given period. The accused are scheduled to be produced before the court again on July 8 for further proceedings. A copy of the judicial order has also been forwarded to the relevant judicial authorities for administrative oversight as the investigation continues.
