A tragic accident occurred on Monday when a bus transporting Indian Umrah pilgrims from Makkah to Madinah crashed into an oil tanker, resulting in the deaths of 42 passengers.
Rescue teams and local authorities swiftly reached the scene, where emergency operations continued late into the day. Officials stated that the final death toll and identification of the bodies are still being verified.
Indian media reports indicate that 16 of the passengers were from Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana state.
The bus was reportedly carrying 43 pilgrims, including 20 women and 11 children. Out of all the passengers, only one person is confirmed to have survived the crash.
